UD Men’s Basketball Overcomes Halftime Deficit to Move to .500
In the ultimate tale off two halves UD prevailed in the second matchup against the Hendrix College Warriors 65-64 in Conway, AR. Down by 6 at the break after only shooting 31.3 percent from the floor, UD reversed its fortunes behind a strong second half to take home the one point win and move to .500. UD shot 46.9 percent from the floor and was a perfect 8-8 from the charity stripe in the second half.
Leading the balanced UD attack were three players in double digits, seniors Travis Ekmark (Yokosuka, Japan/Nile C. Kinnick H.S.), Jim Norton (Louisville, KY/Holy Angels Academy), and Jeff Pritchard (Oak Grove, LA/Frisco H.S.). Norton led the squad with 19 while adding 2 steals, Pritchard added 14 and a team high 4 assists, and Ekmark pitched in 13 while hauling down 10 rebounds for his third consecutive double-double. He also added 3 assists, a block, and a steal.
The UD men have a week off before returning to action on their home court against Dallas Christian College on Tuesday, February 16. The game is slated to tip off at 8:00pm.
