Dallas Men Fall to ETBU

The Crusaders Men's Basketball team fell behind by 17 early in the first half of tonight's game against East Texas Baptist University, and were unable to recover from the large deficit, losing 56-78. From the first moment of the game, none of UD's shots would fall, and their defense struggled to stop the Tigers, leading to a lopsided 23-40 halftime score. In the second half things didn't get any better for the Crusaders. They continued to shoot poorly (10-31, 32% from the field), and the Tigers continued to score, leading to an easy ETBU victory.

Senior guard Jim Norton (Louisville, KY/Holy Angels Academy) fought through a rough shooting night (3-13 from the field, 2-7 from beyond the arc), but still managed to lead the team in scoring with 16 points by virtue of his 8-8 performance at the foul line. Senior forward Travis Ekmark (Yokosuka, Japan/Nile C. Kinnick H.S.) led the team with 5 rebounds, and was second in points with 13. He also was the team's best shooter tonight as he went 6-12 from the field.
