Five Crusaders Make All-SCAC Team

CLEBURNE, Texas - Following the exclusive all-conference voting by the head coaches of the SCAC, five Crusaders were selected for All-SCAC Honorable Mention honors: Mike Andersen, Tyler Darnell, Mavrick Martinez, Jon Talley, and Graeme Williams.

Andersen led the Crusaders with a .313 batting average, notching 36 hits in 34 games.  He was among the preeminent base stealers in the conference, placing just outside the top 10 in the conference and was second on the team with 14 stolen bases.  Darnell was the only Crusader to top him in that category, swiping 16 bases to finish in the top 10 in the conference.  Darnell was also second on the team with 34 hits, hitting .276 on the year.

Mavrick Martinez did not have enough at bats to qualify for the conference leaderboards, as he missed much of the conference schedule due to injury, but was an indispensable part of the lineup when healthy.  He recorded 17 hits in 20 games, putting up a .321/.410/.528 slash line; his batting average and slugging percentage would have been team leading marks.

Jon Talley led the Crusaders in runs scored, home runs, and RBI's, was second on the team in slugging percentage and stolen bases, and was third on the team in hits.  He finished sixth in the SCAC with seven home runs and just outside the top 10 with 32 RBI's.

Graeme Williams was the workhorse on the mound for Dallas, recording the most innings pitched on the team with 48.2 innings.  He averaged 8.14 K/9 and was tied for fourth in the conference with two saves on the year.
