Flores Grabs SCAC Baseball Pitcher of the Week
LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - RYAN FLORES OF UNIVERSITY OF DALLAS, a sophomore right-handed pitcher from San Diego, Calif., has been named the SCAC Baseball Pitcher of the Week for games played from Monday, April 26 through Sunday, May 2. For consecutive weeks, a UD baseball pitcher has earned the conference weekly accolade. Ethan Mann (Southlake, Texas) garnered the honor last time.
Flores hurled a complete-game shutout over Austin College on Saturday to help the Crusaders sweep what ended up being a two-game series. Flores tossed the best game of his three-year career by limiting the 'Roos to four hits and three walks. He fanned four batters and was backed by a strong defense that did not commit an error and turned a triple play. Flores is the first UD pitcher to throw a nine-inning shutout since Luciano Villanueva achieved the feat in 2016 at Southwestern.
