
UD Baseball Hosts No. 2 Trinity University over Weekend; 15 Seniors to be Recognized
IRVING, Texas - The University of Dallas baseball team will play their final home series of the year against Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) opponent No. 2 Trinity University. Dallas (6-15, 4-8) lost two out of three against Texas Lutheran University on April 10 and 11. Trinity (20-3, 8-1) took two out of three against Schreiner University on April 9 and 10 and split two games against Concordia University on the road on April 13. The last time UD played Trinity was in 2019 where the Tigers swept the series in Irving.
The series will take place at UD with game times scheduled at 12:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 17, and 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 18.
Following the game on Sunday, the Crusaders will recognize 15 seniors on the team: Christian Wheatley (Austin, Texas), Nathan Patton (McKinney, Texas), Jamie Wallace (Crockett, Texas), Zach Salomon (Oklahoma City, Okla.), Ross Lowe (Lewisville, Texas), Matthew Celentano (Keller, Texas), Jake Schwartz (Geneva, Ill.), Andrew Magness (San Antonio, Texas), Austin Offutt (Frisco, Texas), Zach Taylor (Humble, Texas), Justin Keller (Dayton, Ohio), Nick Hovde (Waco, Texas), Conrad Voss (Corona, Calif.), Joe Vondrachek (North St. Paul, Minn.), and Travis Moore (Grand Praire, Texas)
Things to Note:
Joe Vondrachek (North St. Paul, Minn) has stolen a base in every series except for the season opening series against Sul Ross State University, and Vondrachek has stolen at least two bases in every series except against TLU.
Trinity currently leads the SCAC in team batting average, on-base percentage and slugging for the 2021 season.
