UD Baseball Series Preview vs. Texas Lutheran University (4/10-4/11)

The University of Dallas baseball team returns home to play Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) opponent Texas Lutheran University.  Dallas (5-13) was swept on the road against Centenary College of Louisiana on April 2 and 3.  Texas Lutheran (14-7) swept their series against St. Thomas University on April 1 and 2 and beat Concordia University on the road on Tuesday.  The last time UD played the Bulldogs was in 2019 where the TLU won two out of three in Irving. 

The series will take place at UD with game times scheduled at 12:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 10, and 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 11.


Things to Note:

In the 2019 series, UD won against then #5 nationally ranked TLU in the series finale in the 12th inning, 4-3, on a walk off interference call that scored Joe Vondrachek (North St. Paul, Minn.). 

Nathan Patton (McKinney, Texas) broke the UD record for career doubles in the series against Centenary with his 41st career double.

Vondrachek and Grady Birmingham (Newport Beach, Calif.) hit their first home runs of the season in the series against Centenary.

In the 2019 series, TLU won the first two games of the series by run rule in eight innings and seven innings 11-0 and 18-1.

TLU's Cole Irby currently leads the SCAC in batting average hitting .432 this season.

Caleb Maly went 6-10 with a double, five RBIs, three runs and a walk in the series against St. Thomas.
