FIRST PITCH
The University of Dallas baseball team is coming off a series sweep over Howard Payne University. The Crusaders took game one 7-2 and game two 11-4 in Brownwood, Texas. Dallas will now make its home debut as they take on Arlington Baptist University this upcoming weekend. UD last played ABU on March 21, 2018 in Irving, as the Patriots took that game 9-3. Dallas will look to improve its 6-13 record at home a season ago.
UD NOTES
- Nathan Patton (McKinney, Texas) has accumulated a .529 batting average through his first five games (2nd among conference players). Patton has notched eight RBI, eight runs and one homerun in his 24 plate appearances.
- Nicolas Hovde (Waco, Texas), Joseph Vondrachek (North St. Paul, Minn.), and Xavier Cardenas (Mesquite, Texas) all are tied for the team lead with four stolen bases each.
- Conrad Voss (Corona, Calif.) has two wins in two opportunities along with 12 strikeouts.
- Hovde was named the SCAC Character & Community Male Student-Athlete of the Week after he participated in all of the volunteer opportunities that the UD baseball team was involved in during the 2019 fall semester. Those events included the Special Olympics, Miracle League, Catholic Charities, Readers 2 Learners, and Blue Christmas.
- Zachary Taylor (Humble, Texas) leads the Crusaders with 11 RBI.

- Arlington Baptist University is a part of the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA).
- ABU last played Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) opponent Austin College in their last series. The Patriots lost 11-2 and 11-9 at Quik Trip Park.
