FIRST PITCH
Dallas begins the 2020 season with high hopes after coming off a season where UD notched its most wins since 2013 with an 18-21 record. Second year Head Coach Erik Grafton leads his team into Apline, Texas to take on Sul Ross State University this coming weekend. Saturday's season-opener will feature a doubleheader starting at 1:00 p.m. On Sunday the two teams will compete in the series finale with first pitch slated for 12:00 p.m. This will be the seventh consecutive year that these two teams have squared off in the season-opening series. Sul Ross owns a 6-3 record in these games. UD will look to get off to a great start this season on the road before playing in its home-opener next weekend.
UD NOTES
- The Crusaders three main starting pitchers are back again in 2020 in the arms of Conrad Voss (Corona, Calif.), Andrew Magness (San Antonio, Texas), and Zachary Taylor (Humble, Texas).
- Dallas was 10-7 in true road games in 2019.
- The Crusaders have three transfers on this year's roster that will look to fill positions right away.
- UD looks to stay aggressive on the base paths once again this season after swiping 89 last year, which was the second-most in the SCAC.
- Dallas took the series versus Sul Ross last year winning Game One 8-5 and Game Three 13-2 in Irving, while the Lobos took the second game of this series 16-0.
- The Crusaders were selected to finish fifth in this year's SCAC Baseball Preseason Coaches' Poll.

- Sul Ross State University finished 17-22 with an 11-10 mark in the American Southwest Conference (ASC) a season ago.
- Third baseman Tim Johnson was listed to the 2020 D3baseball.com Preseason All-American First Team.
