Baseball trails 9-2 in Suspended Game to start Weekend at Millsaps

JACKSON, Miss. – Game one of the University of Dallas baseball team and Millsaps College matchup was suspended Friday afternoon due to weather. The Crusaders trail 9-2 in the top of the 8th inning. With one out, Jessup Scott (Lewiston, Idaho) is on first and Mark Peterson (Cincinnati, Ohio) is batting. Play is scheduled to resume at 10 a.m. tomorrow.

Dallas cut an early deficit to 4-2 on Zachary Taylor's (Humble, Texas) home run in the fifth. After two more runs for the Majors pushed it to 6-2 in the middle of the sixth, a 1hr 58 minute rain delay happened. A couple more innings got completed before the rain resumed and ultimately ended play on the day.

Taylor leads the Crusaders offense with a 3-for-3 at the plate. The team has five hits. Jordan Stickler (Grand Rapids, Mich.) was hit by a pitch in the fifth to keep his on-base streak going to 40 dating to last spring.
