IRVING, Texas – The University of Dallas baseball team (3-2) were able to claim an 11-2 victory in game one of two contests versus Whitman College (1-2) on Saturday afternoon. The Crusaders would drop a 6-4 result in the second of a doubleheader to end a two-game winning streak. That same affair produced Whitman College's first victory of the 2015 campaign.

In the early contest, Dallas took advantage of four miscues from the Missionaries and posted its second double-digit hitting performance in a row with 12. The scoring output was also a season-high for the Navy and White.

UD got on the board in the bottom of the second inning and would notch at least a run in five of the next six counting that one. Whitman nipped the deficit to a pair in the top of the fourth frame.

The Crusaders received their first home run of the campaign by senior Trevor Keele (Edgewood, Texas) as he clobbered one beyond the left field wall for his first individual of the year. The first baseman tallied just the one hit for a round-tripper, and would be a two-run shot to give the home team a 5-1 edge.

Sophomore Alex Stack (Keller, Texas) posted his second-straight, three-hit afternoon and matched that amount with runs scored; while adding an RBI. A trio of players totaled multiple hit performances including: sophomores Zach San Roman (Miami, Fla.), Patch Healy (Plano, Texas), and JP Fasone (Englewood, Colo.).

Senior Martin Cronin (The Woodlands, Texas) made his debut and tossed five innings of one-run ball. He scattered six hits, walked one, and struck out five. Sophomore William Marshall (Frisco, Texas), freshman Jack Brunk (Lemont, Ill.), and Sophomore Eric Felchak (The Woodlands, Texas) each saw time on the bump.

The Navy and White would tally a run in the eight and push a trio in the final at bat.

Junior Rene Vargas Jr. (San Antonio, Texas) and senior Luciano Villanueva (San Antonio, Texas) led the Dallas offense with two hits apiece and were credited with two of three RBI.

Sophomore Blake Palmer (Coppell, Texas) was saddled with the loss in 5.1 innings of one run ball. He danced around eight hits and two walks while fanning three. Marshall threw another pair of innings, giving up two runs, two hits, a walk, and two punch outs. The righty combined to go four innings on the mound.
