@UDallasBaseball unable to Sweep Again; Pirates prevail 13-2 in Finale

IRVING, Texas – The University of Dallas baseball team (9-6) dropped a 13-2 final in seven innings to Southwestern University (2-12). The setback moves UD to 4-2 at home this season and snaps a five-game winning streak. The Crusaders worked quickly to erase a 2-0 gap with a pair of runs in the third. However, Southwestern claimed the lead for good in its next turn with five runs in the fourth. The next three frames witnessed the Pirates tack on 11 runs total.

Freshman Patrick Stratton (Grand Prairie, Texas) posted a perfect 3-for-3 game at the plate and scored a run. He also doubled and scored the team's second run that knotted the game at two in the third.

Andrew Glickfeld (2-4), Colten Shea (3-3), and Ketchum Marsh (2-4) all had a pair of ribbies to match game-highs and also compiled seven of the team's 12 hits for Southwestern. Brett Marcom earned the winning decision with six frames thrown. He allowed two runs (1 earned) on six hits and a walk. He fanned five. His counterpart for UD, sophomore Joshua Crapps (Anchorage, Alaska) was saddled for five runs (4 earned) on five hits in 3.1 innings of the start.
