Mark Carlson, Trevor Keele christened 2014 @USCAA Baseball 'First Team' All-Americans

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. - Two University of Dallas student-athletes -- Mark Carlson and Trevor Keele -- have been pegged by the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) to the 2014 USCAA Baseball All-American First Team.

All-Academic and All-American selections were announced on Sunday at the USCAA National Championship. Statistics do not include postseason play.

Carlson (Hawthorn Woods, Ill.), a 6-foot-1 senior, was the only listed second baseman on the first team. His nine triples in 2014 were the most in the USCAA. They finished tied for the single-season school record and the top spot in all of NCAA Division III. Carlson also notably registered 78 total bases (eighth), 40 runs (eighth) and 51 hits (10th).

Keele (Edgewood, Texas), a 6-foot-1 junior, was one of three noted first basemen to land on the first team. He was previously selected as a 2013 USCAA Honorable Mention All-American. At the conlusion of the 2014 season, the right-handed hitter had tallied six sacrifice-flies to lead the league. He also accumulated 46 runs batted in (third) and 54 hits (eighth). As a pitcher, his four saves were second-best in the USCAA.
