Mark Carlson named to 2014 ABCA/Rawlings West All-Region 'Second Team'
LA VERNE, Calif. - University of Dallas senior second baseman Mark Carlson (Hawthorn Woods, Ill.) has been selected by the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) to the 2014 ABCA/Rawlings NCAA Division III Baseball All-West Region Second Team.
With the team's balloted by the region's head coaches, Carlson was the only second baseman to comprise the second team.
The 6-foot-1 right-hander led Dallas this season in runs (40), triples (nine), total bases (78) and slugging percentage (.553).
Carlson's high-mark in triples finished tied for the most in all of NCAA Division III and with Tom Fogerty (2008) for the single-season school record.
