West Division No. 3 seed Baseball opens with East Division No. 1 seed Birmingham-Southern (AL) on Thursday in 2012 SCAC Championship Tournament
Per the SCAC Office:
MILLINGTON, Tenn. - The 2012 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Baseball Tournament returns to Millington, Tenn., and USA Stadium for the third consecutive year. Competition begins on Thursday, April 26th and runs through Sunday, April 29th.
The top three teams from the East and West will meet to compete for the NCAA's Automatic Qualifier into the field of 56 teams.
Live stats (here) will be available for every game, as will live audio and video (here) courtesy of the Millsaps College sports information department. Interviews with coaches and players will be conducted after each game and linked in the game recaps (below).
Last year, Trinity University claimed its third SCAC title in the last four years (second consecutive) and the program's seventh since 1992 as the Tigers used a dominating performance from starting pitcher Ben Klimesh. Klimesh threw a complete game while striking out 10 and scattered eight hits and allowed just one run in Trinity's 9-1 win over Hendrix in the 2011 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference championship.
