Tapley Holland came to the University of Dallas in 1998-99, the second year of the revival of the baseball program, which coincided with the winning of two American Southwest Conference East Division Championships in a row. Tapley was the backbone of those championship teams that won 60 games and lost 27. He holds school single game records for runs, 5 and home runs, 2. He also holds season records for runs 58, doubles 22 and triples 6. In addition he holds the career record for triples with 9. His career batting average of .390 is third on the UD career list. After graduation he was drafted by the Detroit Tigers and went on to play two years of minor league baseball.
