During the 2000-01 to 2003-04 time frame Shane Lungwitz led the University of Dallas men's basketball team to unprecedented success setting school records for wins in a season and best winning percentage. Along the way he set 3 school individual game records for points, field goals and free throws, and five school individual season records for field goals, field goal %, 3 point %, points and points per game, in addition to leading the 2003-04 team to the NCAA Division III basketball tournament for the first time. He is the leading scorer in school history with 1,579 points and was a three time USCAA All American selection. Following graduation Lungwitz went on to play professionally in Italy.
