Jesse Nelson joined the University of Dallas baseball team in 1999 just in time to be part of three consecutive American Southwest Conference East Division Championships in 1999, 2000, and 2001 under Coach James Vilade and the 2002 team under Coach Sam Blackmon that had a 33-3 record which established the best won-loss percentage of any NCAA Division III team. Jesse holds the following school records Most home runs in a game, 2. Most hits in a season, 64. Career records include most at bats 548, hits 215, doubles 40, and runs batted in 159. His career batting average of .392 stands second on the all time list. Nelson was selected a Verizon Academic All American in 2002.
