Jerry Gramly was a pitcher for the University of Dallas baseball team from 1962 through 1964. During those years the team was 50-21 which is the best three year record in school baseball history. The 1964 team was also the first school team to qualify for postseason play. In 1964 he was second in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) in strikeouts and third in games won. He holds school records for most strikeouts in a game, innings pitched in a season, wins in a season, season winning percentage and strikeouts in a season. In addition he holds career records for wins, strikeouts, games pitched and earned run average. He was also the first UD athlete to play professionally when he signed a contract with the Philadelphia Phillies.
