Brian Stanfield was the men’s basketball coach at the University of Dallas from 1999 to 2008 and during that time orchestrated an amazing turn around in the fortunes of UD basketball which also changed the culture. Prior to his arrival the university had two winning seasons in 39 years. Coach Stanfield posted three in a row including two seasons of 18 wins, which is a school record not mention a 15 game winning streak for the 2000-01 team, which is also a school record. His 2002-03 team posted a school record .750 winning percentage. The only appearance UD has made it to the NCAA Division III tournament is attributed to Coach Stanfield’s 2003-04 team. He posted 111 wins overall and was the first UD basketball coach to reach the 100 win mark.
