Dallas Hosts 2021 SCAC Cross Country Championships on Saturday

IRVING, Texas – The 2021 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) men's and women's cross country championships are set to be held on the campus of the University of Dallas this Saturday, February 6.

The women's race will start at 9 a.m. and be a 6k. The men's race will be an 8k and the starting gun is set to go off at 10 a.m. Awards for both races will happen after the men's race. The starting and finish lines are located where the Dallas soccer teams play at. The Crusaders have hosted their home invitational the past several years but both races were measured as a 5k. For those familiar with those courses, this will have slight variations to where the runners go across the campus.

At this time no spectators are allowed at SCAC sponsored events, including the championships. Dallas is looking to provide a livestream free of charge on College TV Ticket. Due to the nature of the course, the stream will only capture the start and the last parts of the race. The awards will also be live.

The Crusaders will be led by the lone senior on the women's team, Emma Kate Callahan. Her fastest time in the 6k was a 24:26 at the 2019 USCAA National Championship. The men's team returns top runner last season, Thomas Lagarde. His fastest 8k was a 27:28.6 mark at the USCAA National Championship.

Both teams have an influx of freshmen that get to make their collegiate debuts at the friendly confines.
