Pauly Ulrich Named Sports Information Director

IRVING, Texas. - After a nationwide search, the University of Dallas has named Pauly Ulrich the new Sports Information Director, Athletics Director Jarred Samples announced on Tuesday.

“I am thrilled to be a part of the University of Dallas.  I am truly humbled to have been selected as the next Sports Information Director and could not be more thankful for the opportunity,” said Ulrich.

“We are excited to have Pauly joining our team,” said Samples.  “He brings a wealth of experience which will enable him to impact our student-athletes and entire department.  He is a great fit for UD.”

Ulrich hails from San Diego, California, coming to UD after having spent the last four years as the SID for the University of Saint Katherine in San Marcos, California.  He was given the reins of the department in February of 2017, and was entrusted with building the department from scratch.  In his four years with the Firebirds, the university transitioned from the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) to the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA).  Ulrich was tasked with creating and implementing systems that ensured the department met all NAIA requirements.

Ulrich earned his bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology from USK in December of 2016.  After a year of working for USK, Ulrich pursued his master’s degree in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Exercise Science at Point Loma Nazarene University.  He completed his Master’s of Science in August of 2019.

“I want to thank the University, President Sanford and Vice President Plotts for the opportunity,” said Ulrich.  “And I want to express my sincere gratitude to AD Jarred Samples for trusting me with the great responsibility of running the Sports Information Department.  I am excited to take on the challenge, and look forward to building on the foundation that was laid before me.”
