8 Crusaders Qualify for 2017 Fall Sports USCAA All-Academic Teams

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – The United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) released the 2017 Fall Sport National All-Academic Winners on Thursday evening. The University of Dallas placed eight student-athletes from men’s soccer, women’s soccer, volleyball, men’s cross country, and women’s cross country among these lists.

This is the second consecutive year that the Crusaders have had eight players earn spots on the Fall All-Academic Teams. This season all five fall programs from UD were represented and two players repeated with spots on the recipient list. The duo included Mackenzie Vasile from women’s soccer and Trae Hampton from men’s soccer. Hampton is the two-time winner of the UD Scholar Student-Athlete of the Year Honor for 2015-16 and 2016-17.

The guidelines to be selected on the USCAA National All-Academic Team include: Student-Athletes with 24 or more credits on their USCAA transcripts, overall (cumulative) grade point average must be 3.50 (on a 4.00 point system) or greater, and GPA’s must be documented by way of an unofficial school transcript.
