Bio
Coach Anna Dougherty (née Wilgensbusch) is among the most accomplished athletes in the history of the University of Dallas. A standout performer in both cross country and track & field, she earned NCAA Division III All-American honors twice under the mentorship of current head coach Nick Schneigert - first in 2019 and again in 2021 for cross country.
In 2019, Coach Dougherty captured the individual title at the SCAC Cross Country Championships and followed that performance with a runner-up finish in 2021. She narrowly missed NCAA All-Region honors in the 10,000 meters in 2021, finishing just one spot shy. Throughout her collegiate career, she set multiple school records across both cross country and track & field events.
After graduating in 2022, Coach Dougherty pursued graduate studies at the University of St. Thomas in Minnesota, earning a master’s degree in theology. She now resides in Irving, Texas, with her husband, and continues to bring her passion and expertise to the next generation of student-athletes.
