Giadolor Breaks 200 Meter School Record and PR's in 100 Meter on Friday

SEGUIN, Texas – The University of Dallas men's track and field team completed day one of the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) Championships hosted at Texas Lutheran University.

Freshman Prince Giadolor (Rockwall, Texas) broke his own personal record (PR) in the 100 Meter Dash from earlier this season to maintain first in the SCAC. Giadolor also shattered the school record in the 200 Meter Dash to qualify in both of the preliminaries on Friday.

Trinity University headlines the team-lead with 75 points. Texas Lutheran follows with 66 and Colorado College has 26.

NOTABLE RESULTS

- Giadolor made his collegiate debut in the McMurry War Hawk Classic with a 10.84 second time to lead the SCAC Performance List coming into the Championship. He bested the time by 0.01 ticks and won the preliminary.

- Giadolor followed that showing by running the fastest time in program history on the 200m with a 22.16 for third place. The record was last set at the SCAC Championships in 2012 in Birmingham, Alabama.

- Junior Barton Holdridge (Fort Worth, Texas) notched a qualifying spot on Saturday in the 200m, debuting on the event this spring with a 23.18 mark for sixth. 

- Holdridge locked up his second qualifying finish, taking fifth in the 400m with a 52.97 time. Freshman Andrew Ciancone (Houston, Texas) completed the race right behind him with a 52.97 to join the final eight. The duo combined for five points in the final, as Holdridge improved to fourth with a 50.71 time. Ciancone also increased his final's mark with a 52.72 result. 

- Sophomore Del Curto Dominic (Oakdale, Calif.) bested his seed time (1:04.23) by nearly two seconds with a 1:02.52 in the 400m hurldes. 

- Junior Paulo Salazar (Dallas, Texas) threw a PR distance in the Shot Put with a 11.74m. His place was seventh.

- Sophomore Marcus Carmona (San Antonio, Texas) threw 27.81m in the Hammer Throw to complete UD's representation in the field events that day.

UP NEXT

Dallas will complete the SCAC Championship Saturday. The top eight times, who qualified in the preliminaries will race in the finals on events that were not concluded today.
