Men's Golf has Four Tournaments Slated for the 2019 Fall Season

IRVING, Texas – The University of Dallas men’s golf team released its fall portion of the upcoming season in the 2019-20 year. Head Coach Garrett Smith enters his fourth full year at the helm of the men’ golf program and has four tournaments slated this fall like in 2018. Most of the tournaments should be familiar to the returning golfers, as three were on the docket the previous season.

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. – University of Dallas men's golf head coach Garrett Smith has been named the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) Men's Golf Coach of the Year for the 2018-19 season. This is the first time a leader at the helm for the Dallas men's golf program has claimed the Golfer of the Year award.

Smith Transforms Men's Golf Program in 3 Seasons

IRVING, Texas – The 2019 Southern Collegiate Athletic Championship belongs to the University of Dallas men's golf team. On April 23 in Blanco, Texas at Valaar Creek Golf Course, the Crusaders achieved a feat that had never been done in the school's history since joining the league in the 2011-12 academic year.

IRVING, Texas – The University of Dallas athletics department celebrated its sixth annual end of the year banquet on Sunday, May 5, at the Hagger University Center. Each coach from the 15 NCAA affiliated programs took a moment to speak on behalf of their program, as well as recognize those that received postseason achievements highlighted by each team’s Most Valuable Player (Listed at bottom).
Crusaders Capture 1st SCAC Title in School History; Montalvo and Hamm Tie 2nd at 2019 Men's Golf Championship

BLANCO, Texas – The University of Dallas men’s golf team captured the 2019 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) Championship on Tuesday with an 886. This is the first SCAC Title in school history for Dallas and the men’s golf program. Emilio Montalvo (Mexico City, Mexico) and Erik Hamm (Brentwood, Tenn.) shot a 217 (+1 Par) to tie for second individually. Jacob Wade (Magnolia, Texas) carded a 223 to tie for sixth.

Montalvo Captured SCAC Men's Golfer of the Week after Great Performance

EMILIO MONTALVO OF THE UNIVERSITY OF DALLAS, a sophomore from Mexico City, Mexico, has been selected the SCAC Men’s Golfer-of-the-Week for competition played from Wednesday, April 10 through Tuesday, April 16. It is his second time in the 2018-19 season to capture the weekly honor, with the other time on Week 4 (Oct. 3, 2018).
Crusaders Finish Second at Rhodes College Spring Classic; Montalvo Sets New Low Third Round Record

MEMPHIS, Tenn. - The University of Dallas men’s golf team finished second out of sixteen teams at the Rhodes College Spring Classic for its best finish of the season with an 858. UD as a team set a low three round record after scoring an 858. Emilio Montalvo (Mexico City, Mexico) set a new school record low third round score of 210, after carding a 71 on the day. Montalvo shot -6 for the tournament to finish in fourth place.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. - The University of Dallas men’s golf team completed two rounds at the Rhodes College Spring Classic at Windyke West Country Club on Monday. Emilio Montalvo (Mexico City, Mexico) shot a career-best 68 in the first round, along with a 71 in Round Two to sit in a tie for third place with a 139. Dallas broke a low two round record with a 573 to place itself in a tie for third place with one round to play.
