Wilgenbusch Captures SCAC Crown; Wins Seventh Consecutive Meet

WIDEFIELD, Colo. - The University of Dallas women's cross country team finished third with 103 points at the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) Championships hosted by Colorado College on Saturday. Anna Wilgenbusch (St. Paul, Minn.) took first place for the seventh consecutive race on the season with a time of 22:55.5. She won first place by more than 30 seconds to claim the conference championship medal. Emma Kate Callahan (Overland Park, Kan.) secured a top-20 finish finishing 19th at the 25:13.6 mark grabbing 18 points for Dallas.

Elizabeth Regnerus (Round Rock, Texas) finished with the third-best time for the Crusaders (27:39.0) for 37th. Mary Korth (McKinney, Texas) Sabrina Lucio (Chino, Calif.) and Isabella Childs (St. Mary's Kan.) all raced in the championship meet finishing 38th, 43rd, and 50th, respectively.

Following behind Wilgenbsuch were Emily Dwyer (Colorado College) who claimed second with a time of 23:28.3 and Brianna Ratliff (Trinity University) grabbed third place finishing at the 23:30.9 mark.

Colorado College became SCAC Champions with 30 points having five runners within the top-10. Trinity University took second with 43 points.

Wilgenbusch captured All-SCAC 1st Team with her first place finish on the day and was also voted the SCAC Runner of the Year (1st time in UD history for both accolades).
