Women's Cross Country Earn 3rd at SCAC Championship

KERRVILLE, Texas – The University of Dallas women's cross country team claimed 3rd place at the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) Championship on Saturday. Dallas totaled 106 points to capture a top-3 finish out of seven participating schools.
This was the first 6k for UD this season, as its previous four races were all 5k distances.
Trinity University prevailed with a team score of 29. Colorado College followed with 36. Anna Wilgenbusch (St. Paul, Minn.), who was the lone member of the Crusaders to be named an All-Conference winner, ran the fastest time with a 24:13.59 for 12th individually. The freshman leader for Dallas boasted the top-team time for the 5th straight competition. She is the second member of the program to be named all-conference. Clare Myers achieved the feat twice in 2012 and '14.
Emma Kate Callahan (Overland Park, Kan.) notched a personal record (PR) with a 25:33.56 for the second fastest UD time and 19th overall.
Mary Korth (McKinney, Texas ) also garnered a PR with a 27:39.37 for 30th.
Sabrina Lucio (Chino, Calif.) and Clare Hernandez (Dade City, Fla.) checked in respectively with 25:41.89 (20th) and 26:25.90 (25th) before Korth. Katie Dieteman (Erie, Pa.) and Amy Foote (Saint Paul, Minn.) completed the top seven spaces that counted toward team points with 27:43.93 and 27:57.41 times.
Wilgenbush, Lucio, Dieteman, Elizabeth Regnerus (Round Rock, Texas), Isabella Childs (Saint Mary's, Kan.), and Courtney Nguyen (Houston, Texas) made their collegiate 6k debuts.
