Women's Cross Country Wins Ozarks Cross Country Invitational

CLARKSVILLE, Ark. – The University of Dallas women's cross country team won the Ozarks Cross Country Invitational on Saturday with a score of 33. The top seven averaged a time of 22:17 and posted a total time of 1:51:26.

Finishing second was host University of the Ozarks with a 66 and Hendrix College rounded out the top three with a 71.

Anna Wilgenbusch (St. Paul, Minn.) came in 2nd with a 20:49.9 time. The freshmen continues to lead the Crusaders in all the team's 5k races thus far. She headlined a quartet of top-10 finishes by UD. Sabrina Lucio (Chino, Calif.) finished 6th (22:00.3), Clare Hernandez (Dade City, Fla.) finished 7th (22:21), Emma Kate Callahan (Overland Park, Kan.) finished 8th (22:49.3), and Katie Dieteman (Erie, Pa.) finished 10th (23:26.3). Dieteman's time was a season-best.

Six Crusaders garnered their fastest times on the season including Dieteman. Joining her were Amy Foote (Saint Paul, Minn.) with a 23:29.7, Mary Korth (McKinney, Texas) at 23:59.5, Mackenzie Tano (Wylie, Texas) at 25:27, Kimberly Keally (Anderson, Texas) at 25:31.7, Mary Rose Corkery (Mansfield, Mass.) at 25:56.2, and Hannah Guth (Lake Charles, La.) at 26:11.2.

A trio of runners hit personal records led by Elizabeth Regnerus (Round Rock, Texas) with a 23:46.8 time. She also rounded out the top seven runners for Dallas with a 14th place finish. Courtney Nguyen (Houston, Texas) and Isabella Childs (Saint Mary's, Kan.) also PR'd at 24:42.3 and 24:52.9, respectively.

This is the third time historically that UD's women's cross country team has won this invitational. The other two times were October 1, 2011 and September 29, 2012.

Dallas runs a final 5k this season with its home invitational on October 13.
