Moore gains All-American First Team with School Record; Women's Cross Country 7th at USCAA Championship

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – The University of Dallas women's cross country team closed out the campaign on a high note on Friday in the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) Championship. As a team, the Crusaders placed 7th out of 21 schools (207) with an average time of 26:01:53. Five individuals ran personal records (PRs) in the 6k, highlighted by Angela Moore's (Austin, Texas) 23:38 school record. That mark surpassed the previous total by 17 seconds (23:55) held by Clare Myers in 2014. Myers ran that in the NCAA DIII South Region Championship.

The winner of the tournament was Cleary University with 59 points. Berea College followed in second down 10 points with a 69 result. Albany College of Pharmacy and Health rounded out the top three with 119 points.

Florida College's Julie Johnson won the entire individual race with a time of 22:07 minutes. SUNY Canton's Aine McMorrow ran a 22:27 time for second place. The team title winner's fastest runner, Elaine Labarge, completes the fastest three individual times with a 22:31 mark.

NOTABLE RESULTS

- Moore scored sixth overall to lead all Dallas runners and notched a spot on the USCAA All-American First Team. She becomes the ninth runner in the program to achieve the feat since 2002 (teams did not compete 2007-'11).

- Bridget Kennedy (San Antonio, Texas) sneaked under the top 30 racers (out of 159) with a 25:01 finish.

- Joey Danaher (Boulder, Colo.) wraps up her cross country career with a PR 25:55. That also completed the top three finishes on the squad with 41st.

- Other racers that got PRs included: Karmina Martinez (Friendswood, Texas) – 26:54, Mary Korth (McKinney, Texas) – 28:41, and Ana Wilhelm (Kiowa, Kan.) – 29:36. Martinez and Korth placed 52nd and 79th, respectively, to finish out the five Crusaders to score points.
