IRVING, Texas – The University of Dallas women's soccer team scored once each half and limited Austin College to three shots in a 2-0 victory on Friday night to extend its Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) winning streak to a program-best three matches. The shutout stretch also extended through league play with Olivia Severson (La Crosse, Wis.) and the Crusaders (6-4-1, 3-0 SCAC) stout defense not surrendering a goal in the last 275:17 minutes.

Like the first meeting in Sherman between these squads during a non-conference game about a month ago, Dallas displayed a huge advantage in shots for the game (17-3). UD did strike for a goal much quicker in this match though as Makayla Snow (North Richland Hills, Texas) notched her first collegiate points with a goal in the eighth minute. Monica O'Donnell (Phoenix, Ariz.) assisted the scoring play, which Dallas has now had at least one in the first half the previous four outings.

The 'Roos (2-9-1, 0-3 SCAC) did counter with two of their three shots on goal, both coming from Lina Cruz late in the first half and at the onset of the second half.

The Crusaders tacked on an insurance goal from their leading scorer of the season, Alyssa Mencacci (League City, Texas) at the 70:57 minute mark. Michelle MacIntyre (Houston, Texas) tallied her first career point with the assist. Mencacci, who has earned two SCAC Offensive Players of the Weeks in her freshman campaign, now has six goals and 14 points to lead the squad to a 5-0-1 record when she does rattle home a goal.

The home team also was awarded a season-best 13 corner kicks, while AC took none. 10 different Crusaders attempted a shot and the group managed eight shots on goal.

Severson finished with a pair of saves in her third straight clean sheet and fifth overall this season.

Dallas swept the 'Roos in the regular season series for the first time. In 2013, UD went 2-1 against Austin College with a split in the regular season and winning the second time in the SCAC Tournament. The Crusaders were unbeaten in both matches to Austin College in 2015, with a tie at home and victory on the road.

The Crusaders remain atop the conference standings with nine points and are one-of-three unbeaten teams in league play along with No. 19 Trinity University and a 10-0 Centenary College. Both opposing teams are 2-0 and play each other on Sunday in San Antonio. The trio of conference wins for Dallas are the most since 2015 (4-7-1). Dallas' six wins at this point of the season match the team's most overall from a recent season, which was also 2015.

Dallas enjoys a week off until October 18 when it hosts Johnson & Wales University for another single conference match weekend. Kickoff is slated for 5 p.m.
