Mencacci Tabbed again for SCAC Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week

ALYSSA MENCACCI OF THE UNIVERSITY OF DALLAS, a freshman midfielder from League City, Texas, has been named the SCAC Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week for games played through Sunday, October 6th. It is her second time this year for the freshmen to achieve the feat. She is also the first Crusader to earn a conference player of the week accolade multiple times in one season since Dallas joined the league in 2011.

Mencacci led Dallas to a pair of SCAC road victories last week to open league play and get the Crusaders off to a perfect 2-0 in conference action for the first time since 2013. She tallied the lone goal against Southwestern on Friday night to lift the Crusaders to a 1-0 victory and then followed up that performance with an assist on the insurance goal of a 2-0 win over TLU on Sunday. In all, she finished the week with three points on one goal and one assist. Her efforts led the Crusaders to posting wins over both Southwestern and Texas Lutheran in the same season for the first time since 2014.

The Crusaders currently sit in first place in the SCAC standings (2-0) with six points and blanked two teams predicted second and third, respectively, in the SCAC Preseason Coaches' Poll.
