Cosgrove Earns SCAC Women's Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. – MASON COSGROVE OF DALLAS, a senior midfielder from Las Cruces, New Mexico, has been named the SCAC Women's Lacrosse Defensive Player-of-the-Week for games played from Monday, April 15 through Sunday, April 20. She is the second member of the Crusaders this season to be named SCAC Defensive Player of the Week, and third from Dallas to achieve a weekly honor. Lexi Leite (Houston, Texas) and Alex Parkey (Henrietta, Texas) have the other nods for UD. 

Cosgrove grabbed eight ground balls and forced five caused turnovers in two matches on a road trip in Aurora, Colorado, last Thursday and Saturday. She posted four per game against Loras College and Johnson & Wales University and had multiple caused turnovers each outing.

Cosgrove scored a goal in a 15-12 victory over Johnson & Wales and also had three shots on goal out of four total attempts.

Cosgrove is the team leader in ground balls (49) and caused turnovers (19).

Dallas returns to Colorado for the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) Tournament on April 27-28 hosted by Colorado College.
