FIRST DRAW
The University of Dallas women's lacrosse team begins the 2019 season on Sunday versus club team Tarleton State University. Start time is slated for 2 p.m.
The Crusaders are led by third-year head coach Destinee Johnson who ended the 2018 campaign with a 19-7 victory at home over Johnson & Wales University (CO).
UD NOTABLES
- Dallas returns 12 players from last season's squad and 13 that have previously suited up for the Crusaders. A trio of freshmen join the group: Aneliz Rios (San Diego, Calif.), Dalayna Marij (Montrose, Calif.), and Jeanine Dorrough (Lakehills, Texas).
- Headling the Crusaders offense are seniors Lexi Leite (Houston, Texas) and Erika Keever (Fort Worth, Texas). Leite became just the third player of the program to notch 100 career goals, while Keever has surpassed 20 goals her last two seasons.
- Sarah Gamble (Allen, Texas), Mason Cosgrove (Las Cruces, N.M.), and Ella Pedrozo (Austin, Texas) create a group dual sport athletes that have previously played women's soccer and round out the remaining seniors.
- Lizz Winkler (St. Charles, Ill.) is back for her third year starting as the Crusaders' goalkeeper. She has made 205 saves over two seasons and logged 1,231 minutes in 21 matches (all starts).
