Flynn, Shinkle, Graziose, and Hahn form Quartet on IWLS All-Academic Squad

GEORGETOWN, Texas – The Independent Women's Lacrosse Schools (IWLS) All-Academic Team has been announced for the 2017 season. To be named a member of the IWLS All-Academic Team, recipients must carry a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.30 for the 2016-17 academic year.

A quartet of players from the University of Dallas qualified on the list that is comprised of nine different institutions. Forming this unit include: Christiane Flynn (Seattle, Wash.), Megan Graziose (Temecula, Calif.), Patty Hahn (Plano, Texas), and Julia Shinkle (Ewing, N.J.).

Flynn and Graziose made their debuts for the Crusaders this spring under first year head coach Destinee Johnson. Flynn scored her first collegiate goal against Benedictine College (KS). She added 19 groundballs, 12 caused turnovers, and won five draw controls. Her classmate Graziose anchored the defense and contributed 11 groundballs and seven caused turnovers.

Hahn returned her junior year after studying abroad with the Rome Program in 2016. Hahn recorded two goals and assists. She was a force in the middle winning 18 draw controls and also had 24 groundballs.

Shinkle impacted the offense highly as she boasted career-highs in several categories in her third season with the Crusaders. Shinkle amassed 18 goals, two assists, 20 points, and shot 78.4 (29-37) percent on cage. She added 13 caused turnovers, 16 groundballs, and nine draw controls.

Nine institutions comprise the IWLS: Colorado College, Dean College, D'Youville College, Franciscan University, Northland College, University of Northwestern‐St. Paul, Southwestern University, State University of New York – Canton, and the University of Dallas.
