FIRST DRAW

The University of Dallas women's lacrosse team enters its final home stretch of the 2017 campaign with a trio of matches in a row. Kicking off the span are two in three days starting on Thursday versus Carroll University at 2 p.m. On Saturday, Dallas will play University of Puget Sound in a rematch from its season opener at 11 a.m.

Dallas is 1-7 on the year and has dropped the past three games since starting March out with an 11-7 victory. In each setback this spring, the Crusaders have allowed the opposition to reach double figures in scoring. On Monday, Dallas fell 15-4 at Hendrix College.


UD NOTES

- Lexi Leite (Houston, Texas) has scored in every match this season and leads the team in goals (24), assists (4), and points (28). On Monday she achieved 50 career goals in just her second year of collegiate lacrosse.

- Erika Keever (Fort Worth, Texas) is second on the squad in scoring with 14. She has notched half of them from the free position. Keever etched a scoring result in her past six games in a row and has netted one in all home contests.

- Gwen Mohler (San Francisco, Calif.) and Julia Shinkle (Ewing, N.J.) are the other players on the active roster with multiple goals at six apiece. Mohler has combined for five in the past quartet of matches.

- Keever is atop on the team in draw controls with 13, while Patty Hahn (Plano, Texas) is right behind at 12.

- Lizz Winkler (St. Charles, Ill.) has turned away 84 saves in 480 minutes.

UD SEASON STATS


A LOOK AT THE OPPONENTS

(Carroll University)

- The Pioneers are 1-2 this season.

- Their most recent match was a 13-6 setback at home versus Loras College on March 9.

- The lone victory for Carroll was a three-goal (17-14) decision at Northland College.

- Donna January has eight goals and an assist for nine points.

- Darby Henjum follows with seven goals and Ariannah completes the top offensive trio with six scores.

- Betty Koenig and Amanda Ferr each have dished three helpers.

- Shelby Schoob has nabbed 40 saves in 179:52 minutes between the pipes.

- Dallas is 0-1 in the overall series.

- That lone matchup occurred in 2016 at Waukesha, Wisconsin, in an 11-10 result.

- Leite (2) and Mohler (1) both scored in that match that remain on the current roster.

- The difference in the match was the Pioneers boasted a 16-3 edge in saves. Both keepers are new this season.

Carroll Season Stats


(University of Puget Sound)

- The Loggers are 2-2 on the season and split two matches on the road this month.

- The trip to Irving, Texas, completes a four-game span away from Tacoma, Washington.

- Puget Sound will play the Pioneers of Carroll on Friday at 2 p.m. as a neutral site match.

- The most recent outing was an 18-7 setback on Saturday at Whitman College.

- As far as common opponents, the Loggers did edge Linfield College 11-9, who UD fell against 14-5 about a month ago.

- Three players have eclipsed double figures in goals led by Haley Schuster's 13. Ella Frazer and Roxanne Krietzman come next at 10 apiece.

- Ally Benko has done most of the goalkeeping with 25 saves in 180 minutes. She has started three-of-four matches.

- Dallas fell in the earlier meeting at Puget Sound by a final of 16-11. The teams were tied at 8 during intermission.

- Leite netted a hat trick for the Crusaders with three goals. Keever and Shinkle each grabbed a pair. Katie Crnkovich (Walnut Creek, Calif.) tallied her lone goal of the season.

- Winkler secured a personal most 16 saves.

- Charlotte Donnelly was her counterpart making her only appearance between the pipes and had three saves.

- Meghan Bacher and Krietzman paced the Loggers' offense with five goals each. Frazer chipped in four.

UPCOMING SCHEDULE

Dallas completes its greatest amount of games (8) on the home ledger in program history on March 28 against Pacific University at 4 p.m. This will be senior day for Mohler who has been on the team the past three seasons. Holly Tonry (Seattle, Wash.) a women's basketball player that joined the squad a couple weeks ago will also be recognized.
