Women's Lacrosse falls at Hendrix College on Monday
CONWAY, Ark. – The University of Dallas women's lacrosse team dropped a 15-4 decision at Hendrix College on Monday. Despite temperatures in the 30's, the Warriors (3-3) offense heated up early with five-of-six goals within the first 10 minutes of the opening half. Dallas (1-7) scored the final three goals of the match, but it was too late after a wide deficit most of the contest.

- Lexi Leite (Houston, Texas) achieved her 50th career goal in just her second season of collegiate ball.
- The team-leading scorer notched a pair and has now found the back of the cage during all eight matchups. She had three shots on cage and won three draw controls.
- Erika Keever (Fort Worth, Texas) produced goal number 14 and kept her scoring streak rolling at six in a row. The sophomore has netted a goal in all but one contest. She also had five groundballs.
- The top scorers on the squad had four shots apiece. Gwen Mohler (San Francisco, Calif.) threw the other shot and landed it home for the other goal.
- Lizz Winkler (St. Charles, Ill.) stopped 10 saves against 25 faced. She has eclipsed double-digits through six matches and has 10 now in three of them. The keeper garnered six groundballs as her and Keever combined for 11.
- Hendrix was led by Bridget Umble with five goals. She had a team-high seven shots all on goal.
- Hannah Burroughs followed with all four shooting attempts breaking the scoring crease. Morgan Dasch was the final player with a multiple scoring match with three.

- The Crusaders compiled five saves per half.
- Hendrix boasted a 26-9 shot advantage. 25 for the home team landed on target.
- The Warriors secured an 18-12 edge in groundballs.
- UD won four draws out of 21 chances. This included being outdone 12-3 in the first frame.
- Both teams successfully cleared the ball three times, but the visitors had 14 failed compared to two by the Orange and Black.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Hendrix had an early goal from one of the players not to have more than one in the game, Raychl Reger. Her unassisted goal occurred a minute into the match and gave the Warriors the lead for good. Out of the next draw, Dasch won it and then Reilly Frazier dished to Umble for her first goal of the evening and doubled the advantage 2-0 ten seconds later.
Dallas did win the next draw and turned the ball over. However after the home squad lost the ball, it was the Crusaders that fired their first shot of the contest. Leite was wide on the first one, but did not miss on her next opportunity as she cut the deficit 2-1 at 25:52.
It was all Warriors for the remainder of the half, as the team surged away with 11 straight during that span. Shelby Hill scored at 23:27 to make it 3-1, and then top pair of scorers in the game went back-to-back over the next minute apiece to open a four goal lead (5-1). At 19:28, Hendrix amassed a quintet of goals with a little under five minutes in that stretch to put the game at 10-1.
At halftime the Warriors held a commanding lead 13-1.
In the next stanza, Hendrix posted consecutive scores with about six minutes to go and finished its final goals of the game.
The Crusaders countered with the last three goals of the match. Keever made the lone free position attempt for Dallas with a goal at 8:58. Mohler added a goal with just under six to play, and Leite nailed her second netter with two and a half remaining. It was not enough as Hendrix won the final draw and neither team attempted a shot the rest of the way.

On Thursday, the Crusaders host Carroll University (WI) at 2 p.m. Two days later University of Puget Sound faces Dallas at 11 a.m. In between the two games facing the team from Irving, Texas, Carroll and Puget Sound will play a neutral site game at 2.
