Crusaders Complete Play at SCAC Preview on Tuesday

BLANCO, Texas – The University of Dallas women's golf finished out the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) Preview at the Vaaler Creek Golf Club hosted by Texas Lutheran University on Tuesday. The Crusaders were unable to hang with the rest of the group and ended up falling down in the standings overall. Claire Kirby paced the Crusaders with a score of 182 (84, 98) for 20th place.

Kaylei Richardson (Vega, Texas) finished 23rd after carding a 185 (89,96). Emma Christensen (West Haven, Utah) shot a 221 (107, 114) for 29th position. Kirby led the trio with two birdies at the tournament. Richardson came away with 13 pars

Trinity won the tournament with a team score of 652 after notching a score of 326 both days. Southwestern University fell a stroke behind for second place. Schreiner University finished third with a score of 710 (360, 350). The University of St. Thomas (TX) came in fourth in the team standings improving seven strokes from yesterday for a total of 711. Johnson & Wales University (CO) came in fifth.

Sarah Buss of Trinity University won the individual title after she won the playoff on the first playoff hole (No. 18). She parred the hole. Reygan Rodriguez of Schreiner bogeyed the hole to finish second. Buss shot a 160 (+16). Madison Goldberg (Southwestern University),  Linsey Garza (Southwestern University), and Wynter Flores (Texas Lutheran University) all tied for third place with a 161.

Dallas will next compete at the Schreiner Spring Shootout at the Comanche Trace Golf Club next Monday and Tuesday (Mar. 9-10).
