FIRST TIP

The University of Dallas women's basketball team is back home at the Maher Center this Friday and Saturday to host No. 21 Trinity University and Schreiner University. Dallas tips off against the Tigers around 7:30 p.m. on Friday and against the Mountaineers near 6 p.m. on Saturday.

UD NOTES

- The Crusaders (3-7, 1-3 SCAC) look to shake off a rough past week in Colorado that saw an 0-2 result at Johnson & Wales University and Colorado College.

-Madi Horne (Paradise, Texas) earned United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) Women's Basketball Division I Player of the Week.

- Horne was acknowledged for her leading scoring numbers, which included her second highest total of 22 points. She added five rebounds, three assists, and two steals in her nice game at CC.

- Jules Oliveti (Southlake, Texas) is averaging 7.7 rebounds to rank fourth in Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC).

- Dallas has reached the free throw line at a higher clip in four conference games, going 58-84 (69 percent) while opponents are 34-51 (66.7 percent).

- Trinity (9-2, 4-0 SCAC) enters ranked No. 21 in the nation by two NCAA Division III polls. The Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) moved the Tigers up two spots, and D3hoops.com increased them by one spot.

- Trinity has won six straight, including four league games. The latest victories were over University of St. Thomas (82-58) and Centenary College (110-58).

- Abby Holland leads an offense averaging 76.1 points this season with 17.5 points-per-game (ppg). Emily Daniel (12.0) and Kelly Simmons (10.5) are also averaging double figures.

- Trinity is forcing foes to a 25.1 clip on turnovers and average 19.0 assists.

- Schreiner (4-7, 2-3 SCAC) dropped its most recent outing to St. Thomas (77-58). It edged Centenary the day prior by six points (68-62).

- The Mountaineers are 2-3 at home and in true away games.

- Offensively points are spread around with: Sydney Williams (10.0), Zahra Cross (9.5), Miranda Vallejo (9.3), and Yasmine Arogunjo (8.2) averaging top marks.

- Williams (6.6) and Gabby Ivarra (6.3) are the top rebounders on the team
