Crusaders Complete 2020 Hardin-Simmons Cowboy Invitational on Saturday

ABILENE, Texas – The University of Dallas men's track and field team participated at the 2020 Hardin Simmons Cowboy Invitational on Saturday. The Crusaders scored 39 points as a team to finish third place out of 10 spots. Nicholas Vega (Dallas, Texas) picked up a new personal record (PR) in the triple jump with a mark of 11.35 meters and a sixth-place finish. Isaiah Hayes (Arlington, Texas) made his season debut on the day as he competed in the 400-meter dash and the 4x400 relay races. Kevin McGuirk (Front Royal, Va.) also finished second in the 400-meter hurdles at the 59.35 mark.          

Beginning in the field events, Dominic Engbarth (Magnolia, Texas) threw 7.43 meters in the men's shot put. McGuirk threw 38.26 meters in the javelin throw for a fourth-place finish.

Thomas Lagarde (Linden, Va.)  finished seventh with a time of 4:32.72 in the 1500-meter run. McGuirk also picked up a time of 16.51 in the 110-meter hurdles for fifth place.

Joseph Rawicki (Midland, Texas) finished fifth in the 400-meter dash with of time of 54.41. Hayes (57.65), Vega (1:00.82), Shivam Mishra (Jamshedpur, India) 1:01.59, and Engbarth (1:05.20) also competed in this same race.

In the 100-meter dash, Samuel McLard (Flower Mound, Texas) notched a time of 15.03, while in the 800-meter run Caleb Clayton (Kerrville, Texas) ran a time of 2:41.30.

McLard also ran in the 200-meter dash (31.36).

In the final event on the day, Dallas had two teams compete in the 4x400 meter relay. Dallas 'A' consisted of McGuirk, Vega, Lagarde, and Rawicki notched a time of 3:42.36 for fourth place, while Dallas 'B' led by Hayes, Clayton, Engbarth, and Mishra gathered a time of 4:18.52.
