McGuirk Grabs Bronze in Men's Javelin to Lead Crusaders on Day One of SCAC Championships

SAN ANTONIO, Texas - The University of Dallas men's track and field team completed Day One of the 2019 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) Track and Field Championships. Kevin McGuirk (Front Royal, Va.) notched six points for the Crusaders in the javelin throw with a personal-best throw of 48.90 meters for a third-place finish. McGuirk was awarded an all-conference award after shattering his previous mark of 43.51 meters. All-Conference awards are awarded to the top-three finishers in each competition.

Jacob Fink (Coppell, Texas) competed for the Crusaders in pole vault on the day. Fink finished with a career-best mark of 3.50 meters for eighth place.

With McGurik's six points on the day, Dallas sits in sixth place heading into the final day of competition.
