McGuirk Sets New School Record in 400 Meter Hurdles at TLU D3 Challenge on Saturday

SEGUIN, Texas - The University of Dallas men's track and field team competed at the TLU D3 Challenge in Seguin, Texas, on Saturday. Kevin McGuirk (Front Royal, Va.) notched a Personal Record (PR), which broke his own school record in the 400 meter hurdles after finishing in fifth place with a 58.24 mark. His previous record was a 58.66 set at the Marc Randle Classic earlier this spring. This is the second time McGuirk has bettered his school record this season and third in his career.

Tomas DePetris (Houston, Texas) also set a PR by eight seconds in the 800 meter race finishing seventh with a time of 2:03.83.

- DePetris's mark in the 800 meter now ranks as the seventh-best conference mark in that race on the season.

- Rashid Coombs debuted in the 100 meter run with an 11.54 run. Coombs also debuted in the Men's 4x100 meter relay. The Men's 4x100 team finished sixth.

- Cecilio Huitron (El Paso, Texas) made his season debut in the 100 and 200 meter races with a 12.25 and a 25.07 times, respectively.

- Solomon Schroder (Coupland, Texas) ran a season-best 27.12 in the 200 meter race.

- Gabe Volpe (Harrah, Okla.) made his track debut on Saturday competing in the Men's 4x400 Meter Relay.

- Jacob Fink (Coppell, Texas) had a season-best mark in pole vault (3.49 m).

- The Men's 4x100 relay team was disqualified for running past the exchange zone during handoff number two.
