The University of Dallas men's track and field team will open up the 2019 season at the HSU Early Season Invite in Abilene, Texas on Saturday (Feb. 23). Head Coach Matt Barber enters his fifth season as head coach for the Crusaders. The roster consists of 10 athletes this spring including four new freshman.

This year's roster is headlined by senior Kevin McGuirk. (Front Royal, Va.) who is back to compete in hurdles, jumps, and javelin for Dallas. Logan Fruhwirth (Waynesville, Ohio) and Isaiah Hayes (Arlington, Texas), who both compete on the basketball team, return for another season. Fruhwirth will focus on jumps and javelin this year, while Hayes will compete in sprints and jumping events.

Cecilio Huitron (El Paso, Texas) is back to compete in sprints and jumps once again. Shivam Mishra (Jamshedpur, India) is another returner for UD who will compete in mid-distance events on the track.

Freshman Solomon Schroder (Coupland, Texas), Kai Warner (Lawrenceville, Ga.), Rashid Coombs (Houston, Texas), and Jacob Fink (Coppell, Texas) will all contribute this spring in their own positions. Thomas DePetris (Houston, Texas) will also join the track team this spring after competing on the soccer pitch in the fall. DePetris will look to boost Dallas on the sprints and mid-distance races.

UD has five dual sport athletes on this year's team.

UD will compete in six events this spring, finishing with the SCAC Championships hosted by Trinity University April 26-27.

The men's team is coming off a fifth-place finish in last year's SCAC Championships.
