Former UD Men's Soccer Player, Schwarz, Signed to Daytona Soccer Club

DAYTONA, Fla. – University of Dallas men's soccer alumni Luke Schwarz was signed by USL team Daytona Soccer Club (Daytona SC), the newest member of USL League Two.

Daytona Soccer Club intends to provide the Daytona area with professional level soccer in a very accessible and fan friendly way. Daytona SC intends to the club to serve as a positive role model for sports in the community, to provide opportunity for aspiring young players and to provide the community with access to high level soccer.

Daytona SC opens its inaugural season on May 4, 2019 versus OFC Wolves at Daytona Stadium.

Schwarz graduated from Dallas in 2018 in business and journalism and was a four-year member of the men's soccer program. The native of Tucson, Arizona, lettered four years at Dallas and earned consecutive year team MVPs in 2016 and '17. Schwarz garnered three All-SCAC Teams, a pair of SCAC All-Tournament mentions, and was named on the 2017 SCAC All-Sportsmanship Team.

The midfielder combined for 31 points with the help of 10 goals and 11 assists. This included a career-high and team-leading six goals and five assists in 2016. He was a perfect 8-for-8 on penalty kicks and notched two game-winners. Schwarz was instrumental in leading the 2017 Crusaders to their first SCAC Championship Match, after having the most SCAC wins in school history and finishing runners-up.
