Men's Soccer Falls to Colorado College 1-0

IRVING, Texas – The University of Dallas men's soccer team dropped a tough 1-0 game to Colorado College on Sunday afternoon. Will Mallory scored the lone goal for the Tigers in the 23rd minute after a ricochet shot off the defense landed at his feet and he beat the keeper left to find the bottom left corner of the goal. 

The Tigers (3-1, 2-0 SCAC) only had one shot on goal. Robert Malone and Mallory led the team with two shots apiece. CC was also able to produce five corner kicks on the day. Keller Mochel improved to 3-1 in goal on the season with two saves to go with a clean sheet. 

Chase Reynolds (Southlake, Texas), Hunter Haugland (Bixby, Okla.), and Andrew Ciancone (Houston, Texas) all combined for two shots apiece. The Crusaders (1-2, 0-1 SCAC) attempted nine shots. Ciancone had two shots on goal. Dallas outshot Colorado College 9-7 in the contest. Sean Carlin (Puyallup, Wash.) played all 90 minutes in goal for the Crusaders.

Colorado College was picked second in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) preseason rankings. Dallas was picked third.


UP NEXT

Dallas will be heading to Centenary College of Louisiana on Tuesday. The Gents are 1-2-1 on the season after they tied Schreiner University on Sunday. Kickoff is set for 5:00 p.m.
