FIRST FACEOFF

The University of Dallas men's lacrosse team returns to action on Sunday at 1 p.m. against Marian University. This will be the first matchup between the programs, as the Sabres play game two of its inaugural campaign.

The Crusaders (0-1) dropped a 10-5 decision in their season opener at home last Saturday to Huntingdon College. After falling behind 7-1, the Crusaders outscored their opponent 4-3 including netting the final three goals the last eight and a half minutes.


THREE THINGS TO KNOW FOR UD

- Tyler Smith (Snoqualmie, Wash.) posted two goals in the opener and added an assist.

- Chasen Reynolds (Fallbrook, Calif.) and J.P. Hasson (Fairfax, Va.) each recorded their first collegiate point with a goal and assist, respectively.

- Dallas was outshot 30-19 overall and 19-11 for shots on cage.

SCOUTING THE SABRES

- Marian dropped its first game at Hendrix 19-7. Down 11-1 at halftime, the Sabres scored an 8-6 edge the last 30 minutes.

- The Sabres scored seven goals on just 11 shot attempts.

- Nick Klotz and Garrett Houlihan each notched a hat trick.

- Gavin Taquino made 15 saves against 34 shots faced in 60 minutes.

- Marian University is part of Midwest Lacrosse Conference (MLC), and was selected eighth in the preseason poll.
