Golf to Begin Fall Season with John Bohmann Memorial Invitational on Monday

SEGUIN, Texas – On Monday, September 10-11, the University of Dallas golf team returns to the links for the fall portion of its season. Dallas will play in the John Bohmann Memorial Invitational hosted by fellow Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) opponent Texas Lutheran University.

The men's golf team has good memories playing at Starcke Park from 2017, as the program shattered first, second, and third low round records at the time. Thomas Schuberg (Camarillo, Calif.) set a personal-best 70 in the last frame to help tie the lowest three round score with Hall of Famer Dan Cruse with a 215.

Schuberg is the lone senior on a roster that features eight for head coach Garrett Smith. 2017 Team MVP Jacob Wade (Magnolia, Texas) returns along with classmate Erik Hamm (Brentwood, Tenn.). Both have earned SCAC All-Conference accolades.

Rounding out the six returners are Robby Evans (Flower Mound, Texas), Seth McNeill (Plano, Texas), and Emilio Montalvo (Mexico City, Mexico). Evans headlines the trio with his Alamo City Classic Title that was garnered after the school record-setting 65 in a single round. He also was tabbed on an all-conference team. Montalvo and McNeill each lettered with Montalvo playing in 10 tournaments with a 77.18 average score. McNeill participated in seven tournaments.

Trey Schneider (Mooresville, N.C.) and Nigel Riess are the newcomers added to the squad this season.

The women's golf team will have a participant represent the Crusaders for the first time since 2014. Tiffany Han is scheduled to compete at the John Bohmann Memorial, Alamo City Classic (Oct. 15-16), and Hardin-Simmons Tournament (Oct. 22-23).
