Fall Schedule Announced for 2018-19 Men's Golf Season

IRVING, Texas – The University of Dallas men's golf team announced its fall portion of the schedule for the 2018-19 season. Head Coach Garrett Smith has four tournaments slated so far, including a pair that are hosted by fellow Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) opponents.

The Crusaders open the year on September 10-11 at the John Bohmann Memorial Invitational hosted by Texas Lutheran University. A year ago, the team posted a trio of team low round records at Starcke Park. Thomas Schuberg, who returns for his senior year, matched an individual low three round score 215, and tied his personal-low round score 70. Other returners Emilio Montalvo, Robby Evans, and Seth McNeill all displayed successful rounds in their collegiate debuts.

A new tournament for Dallas is scheduled later in the month with the Rhodes College Men's Fall Collegiate Golf Classic held at Tunica National Golf Resort (Sept. 23-24).

October will have a pair of tournaments from last season as well. Starting the first days of the month off is a common fall tournament for the Crusaders, as they travel to the UMHB Fall Invitational at Wildflower Country Club in Temple, Texas. While Dallas has not played the same courses each season, the program has attended a UMHB hosted event in the fall since 2009-10.

Oct. 15-16 will conclude the fall season for Dallas at the Alamo City Classic hosted by Trinity University. The same course, The Quarry Golf Club, will be how the Crusaders are scheduled to finish the fall for consecutive years. Evans headlined the event with a record-breaking 65 in the last round that won him the title and propelled the team back to second.

The spring schedule is still being finalized and will be released later in the year. One date that can be marked down is the SCAC Championship on April 22-23 at Vaaler Creek Golf Club in Blanco, Texas.
