Golf Wraps Up the Texas Cup on Sunday

PLANO, Texas – The University of Dallas men's golf team finished day two of the Texas Cup hosted by University of Texas at Dallas at The Courses at Watters Creek. Dallas claimed fourth place with a 605 overall (300, 305).
Concordia University won with a 582 (293, 289), while Mary Hardin-Baylor followed with a 599 (305, 294) for second. McMurry University rounded out the top three with a 601 (297, 304). There were six teams altogether, as the Crusaders finished above UT-Dallas and Howard Payne University.
Jacob Wade (Magnolia, Texas) tied Thomas Schuberg (Camarillo, Calif.) with the lowest totals on the day for the team scores with a 75 each. Wade remained atop with the fewest strokes for the Crusaders with a 145 (70, 75) to tie for third individually.

Emilio Montalvo (Mexico City, Mexico) tied seventh as he shot a 147 (73, 74) for UD as an individual participant. Seth McNeill (Plano, Texas) also was an individual performer. He scored the best round for the Crusaders with a 73 and tied for 12th with a personal-best 149 on his hometown course.
Wade and Montalvo both made nine Birdies to tie for second in that category. The top duo for Dallas were a pair behind Concordia's Ben Balen.
Robby Evans contributed a 151 (74, 77) overall score for a finish in the top-20. He totaled 26 pars for second most overall.
Seger Howard from Concordia won the individual title with a 139 (69, 70). His teammate from the Tornados, Balen, would card a 140 (72, 68) as an individual competitor.
UP NEXT
After Dallas logged four tournaments in the past three and a half weeks, the team gets a bit of a break before the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) Championship in The Woodlands, Texas, next month. On April 9th-10th, the Crusaders go to the West Region Invitational hosted by defending SCAC Champion Southwestern University.
