Men's Golf completed Day 1 of Schreiner Shootout

KERRVILLE, Texas – The University of Dallas men's golf team completed day one of its second spring competition on Monday down at the Comanche Trace Golf Club. The Crusaders shot a 312 and sit in sixth place.

The top four teams are from the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC), with host Schreiner University leading the field at 289. Southwestern University follows with a 293, and Texas Lutheran University rounds out the top three with a 299. Trinity University shot a 304, and Evangel University finished two strokes ahead of UD with a 310.

Jacob Wade (Magnolia, Texas) carded a 73, which is his best score in three rounds this spring, and second lowest of his career. The sophomore currently leads the Crusaders individuals with a sixth place rank in the standings.

Will Doctor (Houston, Texas) and Emilio Montalvo (Mexico City, Mexico) contributed a 77 and 79, respectively.

Jake Bell from Schreiner leads the way with a 69. Colin Uecker from TLU, Jason Lopez from Schreiner, and Devon Horne from Southwestern are tied for second with a 70. Cade Osgood from the Pirates has a 72, and then it is Dallas' best scorer on the day.

Dallas will look to make up some ground on Tuesday.
