Evans tabbed SCAC Golfer of the Week

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. – Robby Evans (Flower Mound, Texas) was named Golfer of the Week by the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) for competition played through Tuesday, October 17th. It is the first weekly accolade for the freshman and second of the year for the University of Dallas, who wrapped up the fall season this week at the Alamo City Classic. Thomas Schuberg (Camarillo, Calif.) notched the other accolade.

Evans won the tournament after an incredible second round performance Tuesday that also broke a pair of Crusader records. Evans tallied a 65 for the low round mark on Tuesday and finished with the lowest two round score ever with a 140. His top score also aided the team earning second overall with a 601, which was one stroke behind Hardin-Simmons.

Evans was tied for sixth after leading Dallas with a 75 in the first round of 18 holes Monday. He totaled 11 birdies through the tournament, the most of any player competing. He also led in par-4 scoring with a 3.82 average.
